Wisconsin Recall Fail & Looking Forward

by Jenifer
Earlier this past week there was a recall election for governor in Wisconsin. But apparently no one knew about it; at least the Wisconsin Democrats didn’t get the memo. Otherwise, why did over a million people sign a petition to make the recall election a reality, yet fail to show at the polls? Even worse, according to exit polls, 34% of union workers voted to bring back Governor Scott Walker. INSANE! This is a governor who gutted the power of unions, crippling them to the point of being a joke. Walker stole hard earned union rights, such as holiday and vacation pay, health care benefits, retirement benefits, and more. Yet, the working people of Wisconsin are apparently either so unmotivated that they refused to get off their lazy butts and go vote Walker out, or they allowed themselves to be brainwashed by a bunch of media propaganda. I don’t want to hear anything more about how bad it is in Wisconsin, because apparently that’s how they like it there. Suck it up and deal with it, and keep your traps shut if you’re from Wisconsin; because the rest of us who thought you were serious are tired of your games and stupidity.

Wisconsin is now the past. The only question is, what will be the future for the rest of us as Americans? This November, will we follow the Wisconsin example? Will we elect the class-warring Mitt Romney? Or will we wake the hell up, get off the couch, and re-elect President Obama? I am not a fan of Obama, he is FAR from perfect. He didn’t keep all of his campaign promises and isn’t a true progressive. Socialist? GIVE ME A BREAK! If anything, Obama is a moderate-conservative. But that’s a FAR cry from being Romney, who is a through and through fascist as per the original and only true definition. (“Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.”- Benito Mussolini ). Romney, like Walker, owes his “popularity” (or appearance thereof) to last year’s Supreme Court ruling on Citizens United, which makes corporations equal to people. As a result, they are able to spend limitless amounts of cash to buy elections. That appears to be the effect when endless media ads bombard the public; even if it is mostly lies. It sure worked in Wisconsin.

If Romney gets his way, corporations will own and run America as a truly fascist state. Millionaires like the Koch brothers pull Romney’s strings. Romney has pledged to “never raise taxes”; which has been proven to mean “never raise taxes on the rich slugs ONLY”, and to endlessly raise taxes on the working class people. After all, Romney did this when he was Governor of Massachusetts. He also outsourced jobs to India, and destroyed over 40,000 jobs in his state; all together making it the 4th worst economy in the United States. In addition, he gave even MORE tax CUTS to the never-worked-an-honest-day’s-work-in-their-lives-rich! This is what he has planned for all of America, but don’t believe the facts; just Romney’s lies. He’s good at that, lying that is. All Republicans are. In fact, now Romney is even saying in his current ads that he created jobs when he was governor; which is the exact opposite of what the actual facts show. But that’s the way of GOP liars. After all, if you live in this country and take her resources, yet refuse to pay your fair share like your fellow Americans, how are you anything other than a cowardly and lowly thief?

If Romney is elected, many prominent economists believe that his plan for extending the Bush tax cuts (thus raising taxes for everyone else), will result in the total economic collapse of America within 10-15 years. He has promised as much, and his record shows that he will help make it even easier for corporations to move jobs overseas, cut wages and benefits, cut safety regulations, and make the American worker no more than the property of the company; a return to feudalism. Speaking of regulation, he has ambitions to eliminate the EPA. So plan on drinking poison water, breathing poison air, and eating poison food. His plan for the Keystone Pipeline will release more than DOUBLE the CO² than what has already been released in the entire history of the human race. Environmental experts believe this will accelerate Global Warming to the point of mass famine and drought, flooded coastal areas, killer heat waves, and a world addicted to fossil fuels that will run out just in time for society itself to end; with no time to develop alternatives (as that time is NOW or NEVER), and just in time to provide the final nail in the coffin of the human species. Expect that within the next 20-30 years; if Romney is elected. Studies show 98.5% of the Earth’s surface will be uninhabitable by 2100 if we stay the course as Romney wants.

So, in closing, is it worth it? Is it worth it to get up, go out, and vote against Romney this November? Is it worth it to vote with your brains and not your knee-jerk reaction to political ads? If you have kids, remember that they or their kids will have to pay in 2100 (& sooner even in fact) for what we do this November. The rich schmucks don’t give a crap about their kids futures; their actions prove as much and can leave no doubt. But we must do better for our kids and everyone’s kids. We must do better for the future. Or there will be no future. So either hate Obama enough to doom us all, or do the right thing this time, America. There will be no second chance. This is truly a battle for America and the prize is the future itself.

  1. I may be wrong, but I believe in his heart Pres. Obama is more progressive than he seems. I believe a more progressive Congress, BOTH houses would allow that. IMO he HAD to navigate more to the middle or even to the right after the 2010 election results. Bush tax cuts were extended in lame duck, remember? If we’d kept House & won more in Senate, Bush tax cuts would be nothing more than a memory. Remember he had a Senate with the likes of Nelson, Bayh, Lincoln, and other barely Blue Democrats. Too many in the media completely ignore the 2010 results. It just pulled him even further to the “Right.” And that’s OUR fault. Enjoyed your blog.

  2. Jenifer totally nailed it on this one. I agree wholeheartedly and went so far a few weeks ago to tweet Romney saying the only way to Restore Our Future is to vote OBAMA. I thought it was impossible that people will really absorb all the lies and think they are not being used and realize nothing good could come of a Romney presidency. Romney said “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” yet the turnaround in the auto industry is his idea AFTER President Obama did the work? Really? In everyday life, Romney would be institutionalized for delusions of grandeur or something maybe lose repute for credibility or truthfulness, yet, he’s being supported by an entire political party. I highly doubt former President Ronald Reagan would be pleased with the GOP as much as he is name checked these days. Jenifer, you paint a clear and accurate no holds barred look at the reality and for that you are my Hero. Excellent job.

I couldn’t agree more with what has been said here. In my younger years (the 80’s) I was, I’m now ashamed to say, a Republican. Became a independant during the Clinton years when the GOP went off the rails over absloute non-political nonsence. And although I was supporting Ron Paul earlier this year, it’s now clear the GOP is indeed so fascist and as a result corporate-controled, that a non-corporate, non-sell-out like Dr. Paul hasn’t a chance in hell, so I to now support Obama and will be voting for him this. November. Outside of the so called 1% I can’t see any reason any sane person who cares about the future of America or the world would vote for the likes of crazy-pants Mitt.
